Many people believe that change should be easy and that living out our purpose should be effortless.
I don't believe this to be the case.
Anytime a change is required, it is rarely a comfortable process.
To move forward, we must have the courage to challenge some of our old beliefs.
An inner urge to move forward gets you going in the right direction, but it takes a lot of work to follow through and reach your destination.
But the struggle will be necessary for you to evolve into the person you were meant to be.
If your primary goal is to be comfortable and relaxed, you will find it difficult to evolve.
Because evolution and comfort don’t go together.
To begin changing your life, start by being honest with yourself. Ask yourself,
"Am I looking for comfort, safety, and security, or am I looking to evolve?"
There is no right or wrong answer, so don't judge.
Just be aware and know your intentions for yourself.
If you decide to evolve, ask yourself:
"What are the benefits of evolving? What are the costs of not evolving?"
Answering these questions will help you understand why you're doing what you're doing.
And boy, are you going to need it!
When you decide to evolve and set a goal, that is the moment that your brain will tell you all the reasons why it is a bad idea.
It will list all the reasons why you will fail, as well as all the reasons why you haven't done this in the past.
All your fears and all your doubts will come to the surface.
Your “why” will have to be compelling enough to get you past all the noise the blabbermouth in your brain is going to tell you.
As you begin to evolve, the noise will lessen, and so will the discomfort, but in the beginning, plan for the discomfort; it is the price you pay to evolve.
But the benefits are priceless.
